Shipping: will be approximately $50 within the continental United States depending upon where you live. This banjo is all American and Canadian made. The other is a custom built rosewood bridge for that extra deep Round Peak tone. One bridge is a standard 5/8" bridge as shown. Included is a form fitting Padded bag, bracket wrench, and an extra bracket in case you loose one over the years. The deep tone is perfect for Round Peak or traditional style banjo. The "No Knot" Tailpiece and all other metal parts are nickel plated. I am a Civil War reenactor that has been playing clawhammer banjo for about six months. It has a tension hoop with 18 brackets and a rounded top that does not require an armrest. A rope banding of walnut and maple sets just above a figured walnut rim cap. This clawhammer style banjo has a 12 inch rim that is only 3/16 inch thick maple laminated rim with a integral rosewood tonering. There is a very small natural discoloration in the wood on the backside of the heel, as shown in the picture, so I am reducing the price $100.00. It also has five 5 star Planet pegs with amber buttons. It has an old-time Dobson heel modeled after an original 1860's Dobson I own. The fingerboard and peghead are inlaid with a simple but beautiful floral design out of "Butter Pearl", like SS Stewart used to have on his banjos.

There are two laminations of maple and rosewood under the peghead and fingerboard. For those players who want an authentic old time banjo sound and understand the idea of a fretless instrument, this one is for you. The neck is 1 3/16" wide at the nut and 2" wide at the tension hoop. The Deering Goodtime Fretless banjo is fitted with modern head, tuners and bridge, having none of the quirky setup and tuning issues of the 19th century banjos. The neck is made or hard rock maple with a rosewood peghead and fretless fingerboard, which is scooped. This is a great sounding old Gibson TB-3 archtop tenor that was converted to 5-str flathead with an old Plectrum neck modified to 5-string, and using a bonafide original Gibson pre-war flathead tonering. Fifty years of banjo building experience has gone into this simple but beautiful, new, never owned, 12 inch diameter thin rim, 25.5 inch scale, scooped, open-back banjo called the "O' Susanna".
